Doctor Who’s Adventures: The Classic Era, Episode 1
SCENE I
The Visitor
Note : “Karen, under the guise of Queen Isis, remains a secret to her followers.”
The unknown capsule tore through the void of space, spiraling earthbound. The craft violently entered Earth’s atmosphere, racing towards its inevitable crash into the Mediterranean Sea.

The gigantic defense tracker quickly monitored its trajectory, alerting a half-asleep Emperor Guard. Startled by the blaring alarms, the soldier lost his balance and fell to the floor. He scrambled to his feet, reaching for his com-set lying on top of the console.
Fixing the com-set to his head, he shouted, “Oh dear my lords! Commander! An unknown craft has just crashed along our coastal seaboard.”
He listened intently for a response but heard only background static.
Finally, a weak monotone voice came over his headphone. “Alex speaking. State your emergency.”
The Emperor Guard straightened up as if in the presence of the Lords Our Gods, ready to do his duty. “It’s Lieutenant Zarita. I have pressing news for our Lord, our Queen Isis.”
“One moment, Lieutenant,” Alex replied, his voice pausing briefly.
Lieutenant Zarita waited impatiently, tapping his feet. Minutes seemed like hours, and then a stern female voice snapped the Lieutenant back to attention.
“What is it, Lieutenant?” Karen commanded.

“My dear Queen Isis , it’s an honor to be within your presence,” Lieutenant Zarita replied, trying to sound as impressive as possible.
“Yes, yes, Lieutenant,” Karen replied, unimpressed by the obvious flattery. Being Queen could be annoying sometimes. She thought to herself, “Being Queen can be so tiresome.”
Karen was losing patience. “Lieutenant! What is the meaning of this? Tell me your emergency!”
The quivering voice on the other end was very apparent. “Yes, my Queen! It appears we have an unannounced visitor, my dear Queen, and…”
Karen was becoming increasingly annoyed. “And what!”
“Please forgive me, my Queen, but it seems the craft has crashed into the sea.”
“I see,” Karen replied, beginning to wonder if this lieutenant had a brain at all. She tried her best to remain calm. It was like talking to a child. “Lieutenant! Is the craft retrievable? Did you happen to send out any Emperor Guards to check the shoreline? Or how about dispatching a cruiser?”
Karen heard nothing but heavy breathing. “Well?” she repeated.
“My Queen, I haven’t as of yet,” the nervous Lieutenant finally spoke. “Would you like me to do this, my Queen?”
Karen bit her tongue, took a deep breath, and replied, “Yes, Lieutenant, immediately!”
“By your command, my Queen!” Lieutenant Zarita said with some determination.
Karen removed the com-set and placed it beside her. She got out from under the covers of her bed. Alex immediately covered Karen with her Egyptian robe. The new Commander from walked out to her elaborate balcony overlooking her dynasty. The early morning was cold, typical for any desert. She covered herself even more, her fingers playfully tinkering with her black sapphire diamond. Twirling the cold medallion, she was lost in thought, remembering the past 10 years.
Tears filled her eyes as she contemplated the past decade.
Alex came back offering Karen a herbal tea to help ward off the cold. Karen snapped out of her trance, nodded, and took a sip. She sighed with relief as the warmth from the glass cup radiated through her hands.

She shivered. “Fall already, Alex ? Not sure if I’ll ever get used to these short seasons, never mind the year.”
Alex nodded. “Yes, my Queen. A year on Siri was twice as long as Earth. Should we be off?”
Karen nodded. “Get my cruiser ready, will you, Alex?”
“It’s ready, Commander,” Alex replied, looking at Karen with almost a sarcastic tone, just enough for an android.
“Of course it is,” Karen smiled. “Well then, let’s get going, shall we?”

Karen headed out of her chambers already dressed in her armor. She led the way immediately followed by a convoy of armed androids. She quickly headed towards the massive foyer of her newly constructed Pyramid. More Emperor Guards greeted her along with her longtime friend, Ezzy.
“Good morning, Karen,” Ezzy said, joining the fast-moving group. “What’s the emergency, Commander?”
“Apparently we have a visitor,” Karen replied. “It appears it’s unannounced.”
Leading out the main foyer, Karen was greeted by her specialized cruiser, already hovering in the early morning sun.
“Never seems to be a dull moment,” Ezzy said as she helped Karen aboard.
“No. Doesn’t seem to be,” Karen replied, smiling. “Let’s go see who’s our new visitor.”
Ezzy smiled back. “Just like old times, my Queen.”
The cruiser lifted off seamlessly into the morning sun. It wasn’t long before the crew settled down along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Bustling with activity, the Emperor Guards, led by Lieutenant Zarita, shouted out orders. He saw the Queen’s cruiser, stopped immediately, and rushed over.
Karen stepped out of the cruiser with her convoy of guards. Lieutenant Zarita greeted his Queen, bowing nervously. “My Lord Almighty Queen Isis, I’m so glad you came in such short notice.”
“Yes, yes. Get up,” Karen replied, looking determined. “What have you come up with, Lieutenant?”
“Yes, my Queen. As you can see in the distance, we have just recovered the strange-looking craft,” the Lieutenant boasted eagerly.

Just off the shores, a Sirian craft was towing what seemed like a rectangular blue box. Karen looked intently, shading her eyes from the morning sun.
It wasn’t long before the craft gently landed the long rectangular blue box on the desert sand. A barrage of guards surrounded it in tight formation.
Karen and Ezzy watched in the distance. Nothing moved. Suddenly, the small frame door opened. A strange young fellow wearing a black leather jacket appeared, a little wearily. Karen and Ezzy looked at each other.
“Well, isn’t that strange,” Karen said. “What do you make of it, Ezzy?”
“Not too sure, but I figure it’s obviously an male humanoid of some sort. Wonder what brings him here?” Ezzy began to head over for a closer look. “You better stay here, Karen. You just never know.”
Karen nodded as Ezzy headed off towards the new visitor. She could see Ezzy and the new stranger talking but couldn’t make out what was being said. The stranger was waving his hands, while Ezzy finally pointed towards Karen. The accession of guards carefully followed Ezzy and the man heading towards Karen.
Karen was well-protected by her own Emperor Guards, knowing all too well she wasn’t really in any danger. The closer they got, Karen noticed the young man was thin and slightly tall.
The man greeted Karen with enthusiasm, holding out his hand and giving a vibrant bow. “Oh, this is just simply marvelous. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Queen of Isis. Would you happen to be the 1st Dynasty?”
Karen was amazed by the amount of energy in his step, never mind that he liked to talk a mile a minute. She began, “It’s my pleasure, Sir. What’s your name?”

“My name. Oh, everyone calls me the Doctor,” Doctor Who smiled. “I’m Doctor Who.”
“What brings you here, Doctor?” Karen began to quiz the Doctor, knowing all too well there must be some kind of purpose. “And more importantly, how did you know who I am and…where did you come from?”
“Now those are really good questions, my dear Queen Isis. I originate from my homeworld Gallifrey from the constellation of Kasterborous. Galactic coordinates are ten-zero-eleven-zero-zero by zero-two from galactic zero center.Basically, it is located in a binary star system.”
Karen was impressed. “I see, Doctor. I’ve never had the opportunity to visit, but I hear it was in turmoil.”
“Why, that’s correct, my Queen Isis. How did you know?” Doctor Who admired Karen’s intellect.

“We originate from planet Siri of the Sirius Cluster. Our King Osiris told us stories of this place in time,” Karen replied, intrigued by this young man. “If I understand it correctly, you’re a Time Lord.”
“I’m sorry, but did you say you’re from Siri ? “ Doctor Who quizzed. “And yes, that’s correct. I’m a Time Lord and…”
“And according to history, you’re the last of your kind,” Karen interrupted. “So, tell me, Doctor. What brings you here?”
“Oh good. A woman decisive and to the point. Never mind the small talk. Let’s get right to business, shall we?” Doctor Who rattled on.
Karen was a little surprised. “Yes. Let’s. Tell me then. What’s your purpose here?”
“It’s all relative, really,” Doctor Who carried on. “I’m actually here to tell you I just came from the future…”
Karen interrupted. “The future. Really…”

SCENE I (continued)
“Yes. Really,” Doctor Who replied. “I must warn you of an error in your genetic calculations. It appears your genetic DNA for Apeman has led to a drastic fault in its own DNA.”
“Is that so?” Karen asked, amused. “What kind of error have you noticed, Doctor?”
“Your DNA creation has distorted a missing gene,” Doctor Who replied, his voice quickening. “To put things in perspective and to the point, you must change back what you’ve created. You are destroying the very people I love.”
“Why, Doctor? What has happened in the future?” Karen quizzed for more information.
“They have become displaced. You can say they’re destroying themselves. You must trust your instincts in this matter. In the very least, you must fix the problem you’ve created,” Doctor Who said with even more conviction.
Ezzy interrupted. “You mean you want us to trust these Apes? Are you kidding, Doctor!”
Karen raised her hand to Ezzy, frowning at the interruption. Ezzy rolled her eyes in dismay.
Karen looked sternly at Doctor Who. “What problem, Doctor? We haven’t destroyed this race. We’ve improved them.Human Beings are just fine. They may need our constant guidance. Just like any other child. But there really isn’t any need to be concerned. There isn’t any danger. And besides, if anything, the future should make them stronger and wiser. Wouldn’t you say, Doctor?”
Doctor Who shook his head. “No. In all respect, but that isn’t the case at all. Mankind as a whole has become increasingly dis-responsive. Their civilization is crashing all around them. They have given up entirely. It’s quite sad really. We must do something here and now.”
Karen took the Doctor’s arm gently. “Let’s talk this over breakfast, Doctor. I’m hungry. Aren’t you?”
“Yes. As a matter of fact, I am. That would be wonderful, my Queen,” Doctor Who replied, smiling.
“Come. Let’s eat and talk of this some more,” Karen said, giving a friendly smile. But in the back of her mind, she had other intentions. “You can tell me more about this fascinating story about the future…”

SCENE II
The Pyramid’s dining hall was a marvel of Egyptian architecture. The walls were adorned with intricate hieroglyphics, and the ceiling was a breathtaking spectacle of celestial bodies.
Karen and Doctor Who sat at a small, round table, surrounded by a feast of Egyptian delicacies. Ezzy, ever the loyal friend, stood nearby, watching the interaction with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism.
“So, Doctor,” Karen began, “tell me more about this future you speak of.”
Doctor Who leaned forward, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and urgency. “In the future, humanity has become a shadow of its former self. The once-vibrant civilizations have crumbled, replaced by a world of despair and isolation. The Apes, once our creations, have turned against us. They have become a force of destruction, tearing apart what remains of our society.”
“But why?” Karen asked, her voice filled with disbelief. “We created them to serve us, to protect us.”
“Yes, but something went wrong,” Doctor Who replied. “A genetic flaw, a missing piece of the puzzle. It caused them to develop a sense of self-preservation, a desire for independence. They turned against their creators, and now they are the dominant species on Earth.”
“That’s impossible,” Ezzy interjected. “Our Emperor Guards could easily defeat them.”

Doctor Who shook his head. “Not in the future. The Apes have evolved, become more powerful. They possess advanced technology and weaponry that we can’t even imagine.”
Karen’s face grew serious. “So, what do you propose we do, Doctor?”
“We must rectify the genetic error,” Doctor Who replied. “We must undo what we have done. It’s the only way to save humanity.”
Ezzy scoffed. “That’s easier said than done. How do we even know if it’s possible?”
Doctor Who smiled. “That’s where I come in. I have the knowledge, the technology. I can help you fix this.”
Karen looked at Ezzy, then back at Doctor Who. “Is this true, Doctor? Can you really help us?”
Doctor Who nodded. “I can. But it won’t be easy. It will require sacrifice, determination, and a willingness to face the unknown.”
Karen thought for a moment. Then, she nodded. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes. Let’s do this.”
Doctor Who smiled. “Excellent. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”
